Design Artifact
As an Early Childhood Educator working in a public school, I have taken on the role of running a breakfast / nutrition program at my school. Through this I have made some connections with the Food for Kids Coordinators. These people manage and make sure that the schools involved in their program have the supplies they need, both food and equipment. I feed up to 70 children every morning in a school of about 300 students that is in a small rural community. I have made sure that I have my Safe Food Handlers Certificate and have knowledge of the Canada’s Food Guide. I was then asked to model my program for other facilitators and this is when I was asked to help come up with the app and content for others to use. I was given the task to first create the logo that was going to be on the apps faceplate. I took on the challenge and also have contributed to the apps creation.
For the deign artifact I chose to create an app logo. In my beginning planning stage I had a couple of pencil sketches and planning post-it notes.
I ended up using the second design sketch
and the ideas that had come from some peer feedback.
